COMMON CONCERNS

Fine lines and wrinkles

Due to TGA guidelines we are unable to display specific cosmetic treatments. All information can be disclosed face to face, in-clinic. Please book a consultation to discuss your concerns, potential treatments, outcomes and view patient results.

As we age, our skin undergoes changes, it can become thinner and lose its elasticity. This natural process can impact our skin’s ability to shield itself from the effects of time.

Combined with the constant movement of our facial muscles, wrinkles and fine lines can form on our skin.

INDICATIONS

  • Fine lines are small, shallow lines that appear on the skin's surface, typically around areas prone to movement, such as the eyes (crow's feet), mouth (smile lines), and forehead (worry lines). Wrinkles are deeper lines or creases that become more pronounced over time.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles may become more apparent during facial expressions such as smiling, frowning, or squinting. Over time, these lines may become permanently etched into the skin, even at rest.

  • As fine lines and wrinkles develop, the skin may lose its firmness and elasticity. This can result in a sagging or drooping appearance, particularly in areas such as the cheeks, jawline, and neck.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles can contribute to an uneven skin texture, making the skin appear rough or uneven to the touch. This can affect the overall smoothness and clarity of the skin's surface.

INFORMATION

FAQS

  • Fine lines and wrinkles are primarily caused by aging, which leads to a decrease in collagen and elastin production, as well as reduced skin cell turnover. Other factors such as sun exposure, smoking, repetitive facial expressions, and genetics can also contribute to the development of fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles can start to appear as early as in one's 20s or 30s, especially in areas of the face that are more prone to movement and sun exposure, such as around the eyes (crow's feet) and mouth (smile lines). However, the onset and severity of fine lines and wrinkles can vary depending on factors like genetics, lifestyle, and skincare habits.
